Throwback Pictures is a New York based production company founded by founded by three college friends, Andrew Jenks, Jonah Quickmire Pettigrew and Andrew Muscato with the goal of telling inspiring character driven stories set in never-before-seen locations. In its brief existence Throwback Pictures has two critically acclaimed documentaries to its credit. The first film “Andrew Jenks, Room 335” follows 19 year-old college student, Andrew Jenks, as he lives for one month as a resident in a Florida assisted living facility. “Andrew Jenks, Room 335” won top prizes at a number of international film festivals. The film has also premiered in Australia and Europe. HBO released the film domestically in January 2008 to rave reviews and critical acclaim. Throwback Pictures’ second film, “The Zen of Bobby V.” follows former New York Mets baseball manager Bobby Valentine throughout the 2007 baseball season as he manages a professional team in Japan. “The Zen of Bobby V.” had it’s world premiere at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival and its television premiere shortly after in May 2008 on ESPN. Both films capture their characters in a gritty and hands-on style that can only be described as “Throwback.”
